What is a farmer block?

A farmer block is a fully colonized, 10 pound substrate bag ready to fruit mushrooms. Each block is produced in our sterile lab using premium genetics, so you can skip the time-consuming inoculation and colonization phase and go straight to fruiting in your grow room.

How long do blocks take to fruit after receiving them?

Most oyster varieties begin pinning within 5–14 days of opening the bag and introducing fruiting conditions. Varieties like king trumpet, lion's mane and chestnut may take 10–20 days, while reishi have longer development cycles. Specific timelines are listed on each variety card above.

What fruiting temperature range do I need?

Most of our catalog fruits in the standard commercial range of 55–68°F. If your grow room stays in this zone, you can cultivate the majority of our varieties. We offer varieties that thrive in cooler and warmer temperatures as well. Check the cultivation chart above to see exactly which varieties match your environment.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes! We ship small orders (up to 5 blocks) via UPS/FedEx nationwide. For larger orders, we ship skids with up to 120 blocks per gaylord box. Local delivery is available in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana at $1/mile one way, and free warehouse pickup is available Monday through Saturday.
